Development of robust farmers’ markets is vital to sustainable agriculture across the United States. Farmers’ markets promote nutrition education, healthy eating, and purchase of locally grown products. Markets showcase local growers’ freshest products and provide healthy and nutritious options for local communities.

The Arkansas Farmers’ Market Association (AFMA) links growers, market managers and consumers, acting as an umbrella under which Arkansas farmers’ markets thrive, expand, and educate.

Local Foods Dinner

What's the hottest new trend in food?  Eating locally!  That's why the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show has teamed with our local farmers and the Peabody Hotel to bring you this wonderful dinner event Friday February 25th starting at 5:30 pm in the Peabody Ballroom.  Special speaker Deborah Madison local food expert and cookbook author will highlight the evening with a presentation titled "Why Farm to Table is a Great Idea".

Why is Eating Local So Important?
When we eat locally, we support our local farmers and our local economy and limit the environmental impact of shipping food all over the world.  In addition, locally produced ingredients are fresher, often more nutritious, and simply taste better!

Arkansas has a robust farming industry that produces a bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats.  Come celebrate and explore this bounty at the Arkansas Flavors Farm to Table Dinner.
